Prof. Dr. Maike Debus



Maike Debus pursued her undergraduate studies of psychology with an emphasis on work and organizational psychology at the Technical University of Braunschweig from 2002 to 2008. Throughout her undergraduate studies she held a scholarship from the German Academic Scholarship Foundation (Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes). In 2012, Maike Debus obtained her PhD in Psychology at the University of Zurich under the supervision of Prof. Martin Kleinmann (chair for work and organizational psychology). From 2012 to March 2020 she was a senior researcher and teaching associate at the University of Zurich. Thus far, Maike Debus has been an international scholar at the University of Michigan, Washington State University and Portland State University. As of April 2020, Maike Debus is a professor of business psychology at the School of Business, Economics and Society at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-N├╝rnberg (FAU). Maike Debus' key research areas are economic stressors (specifically job insecurity and overqualification at work), cross-cultural psychology, resources and recovery from work, as well as impression management on the job.
