Gesine Stephan is head of the research department "Active Labour
Market Policy" at the Institute for Employment Research (IAB) in
Nuremberg. She has studied Economics at the University of Hanover in
Germany from 1984 to 1990, where she has also received her doctoral
degree in political sciences in 1994 and finished her habilitation in
2000. During 1996 and 1997 she was awarded a Hans-Lenze-Grant to do
post-graduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley and at
the University of Texas at Austin. Her main research interest is in the field of applied micro-econometric labor market research. Currently, she works in particular on the evaluation of active labor market policies. Her work has been published in Applied Economics, Cambridge Journal of Economics, Economics Letters, Industrial Relations and other journals. Since 2009 she is a professor of empirical micro-economics at the Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. |
