Klaus Moser studied psychology and philosophy of science at the University of Mannheim, Germany, and completed his diploma (comparable to a master's degree) in 1986. From 1986 until 1995 he was a research and teaching assistant at University of Hohenheim, Germany, where he completed his dissertation in 1989. From 1995 to 1998 he has held a chair in Work and Organisational Psychology at Justus-Liebig-University Gie├čen and since 1998 he has held the chair for Industrial/Organizational and Social Psychology at Friedrich-Alexander-University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, Germany. Recently, he declined an offer to move to the Technical University of Chemnitz, Germany.

His main research interests are personnel selection and performance appraisal, training and career development, organizational commitment, and the methodology of organizational psychology. He published or edited more than 10 books, 70 articles in peer reviewed journals, and 60 book chapters. He is a member of the editorial board of the Zeitschrift fuer Arbeits- und Organisationspsychologie (Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology), Zeitschrift fuer Personalpsychologie (Journal of Personnel Psychology), and the International Journal of Selection and Assessment. In addition, he is an ad hoc reviewer for numerous technical journals as well as for various Research Institutions like the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, the Swiss National Science Foundation and the European Science Foundation.

His research has been supported by institutions like the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (German Research Foundation) as well as other public and private institutions.
