Matthias Wrede studied economics at University of Heidelberg, where he received a diploma in economics in 1989. From University of Bamberg he received a doctoral degree in 1993 and a habilitation degree in 1998. After holding visiting positions at University of Essen and RWTH Aachen University, he was appointed associate professor of public economics at RWTH Aachen University in 2002 and full professor of public economics at University of Marburg in 2007. Since 2010 Matthias Wrede has been full professor of social economics at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg. His main research interests are in regional and urban economics, social economics, and public economics. Matthias Wrede has published articles in journals like Canadian Journal of Economics, Social Choice and Welfare, Journal of Economic Geography, Journal of Urban Economics, Regional Science and Urban Economics, International Tax and Public Finance, Finanzarchiv, Public Choice, and European Journal of Political Economy. He is CESifo fellow. |
