Judith Volmer has been professor of Work and Organizational Psychology at the University of Bamberg since 2013. She studied psychology and interdisciplinary Studies (i.e., economics, law, and sociology) at the University of Bielefeld where she completed her diploma in 2002. During her studies she worked in New York City, USA as a transnational relations coordinator and gained extensive practical experiences in prestigious consulting companies. From 2002 until 2006 she worked at the University of Braunschweig – Institute of Technology and at the University of Konstanz as a pre-doctoral fellow and consultant, Institute of Work, Organizational, and Social Psychology, in a research project on excellent software teams funded by the German Research Foundation. She earned her Ph.D. (Dr. rer. nat.) from the University of Braunschweig – Institute of Technology in 2006. During her studies she spent time abroad at the New York University, USA, Social Psychology Department. From 2006 until 2013 she worked as an Assistant Professor at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg at the Social Psychology Group where she completed her habilitation in 2011. From 2010 until 2012 she was visiting professor at the University of Bamberg, Organizational and Social Psychology Group. Judith Volmer’s research interests are in the field of organizational sustainability and employee well-being with a focus on interpersonal relations at work. Currently, she works on the following topics: leadership, work and health, and career development/ determinants and consequences of career success. She has published widely in international, peer-reviewed journals and received a Best Paper Award in 2012. She serves as a reviewer for several international journals. |
