| Sven Laumer (born 1982) studied Information Systems (Business Informatics) at the Otto-Friedrich University Bamberg and the Institute of Technology Tallaght, Dublin, Ireland from 2002 to 2007. Subsequently, he worked both as a research assistant and as an academic council member at the Chair of Information Systems, in particular information systems in service areas at the University of Bamberg, where he was Vice Director of the Centre of Human Resources Information Systems.
In 2014 he was a visiting researcher at the Cognitive User Experience Lab in the Watson Research Lab at IBM Research in Cambridge, USA. He received his doctorate in 2012 for his work on resistance to IT-related change. In 2017 he was awarded for his habilitation “The Digitalization of Work and Life: Empirical Studies of its Bright and Dark Sides” by the University of Bamberg. Since 2018 he has held the Schoeller Endowed Chair of Information Systems, in particular digitization in business and society at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and he is deputy director of the Dr. Theo und Friedl Schöller Research Center. His research focuses on digital working and living environments and in particular on the individual use and overload of digital technologies (“digitalization of the individual”, effects of digital transformation on individual attitudes, behaviour, health and performance as well as dependence and techno-stress in digital working and living environments) the “Digital Workforce” (design of digital work systems, new forms and future of work, virtual teams, digital personnel management, e-recruiting, digital change management) and digital business models and e-services (chatbots: opportunities, techniques, challenges and consequences for e-services). | |
