Prof. Dr. Natascha Nisic

Natascha Nisic is currently Professor for Socioeconomics of the Private Household at Paderborn University. She studied Sociology at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) where she earned her Diploma in 2003. Between 2004 and 2012 she held positions as Research Assistant at LMU Munich, University of Berne (CH), Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and as Senior Researcher at the Institute of Employment Research (IAB), Nuremberg. In 2009 she completed her doctorate at the FAU Erlangen-Nuremberg. From 2012 to 2017 she was Juniorprofessor of Economic Sociology at the University of Hamburg and visiting Professor of Sociology at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2017.

Her research interests are situated at the intersection of labor market sociology, family sociology and economic sociology. She investigates geographical occupational mobility and regional determinants of labor market processes in the context of partnerships and households. Another current research project, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG), focuses on the demand for household and family-related services in Germany and in international comparison. Furthermore her research areas comprise sociological theory, social inequality and empirical research methods.

Her work has been published in leading field journals like European Sociological Review, Journal of Marriage and Family, and Demographic Research. She is reviewer for numerous international and national social science journals.
